I have details of a baptism record from Westbourne Prebyterian church for 06 July 1909 for the child of James Alexander Hamilton and Annie Brown.

My relation James Alexander Hamilton who was age 1 on the 1911 census. (d.o.b suggesting 1910). But I do have a marriage certificate that suggests this same relation was age 22 on marriage to Annie Spence (r)? Mckee in June 14 1929 at Registrars office in Belfast. Which suggests his birth 1907. confusing.....

kind regards

On 1911 census East Belfast online I found
that James Alexander Hamilton married to Mary Anne (age 27).
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Down/Pottinger__part_of_/Perry_Street/219434/

I cannot read what county is written for Mary Anne Hamilton. Her husband is clearly 'County Armagh' but for Mary Anne it looks like 'County Monaghan' or the something. (Im unfamiliar with the area)

Dou you have any information about the roots for Annie
Brown?? could this be the same person?

warrenhamilton:

I've just seen the postings about James and Mary Anne. They were my grandfather/grandmother - can you tell me how you are related and perhaps we can help each other?

I've just re-read your 8/2/09 post which says "James Alexander Hamilton b. c 1910 (g.parent)"

He was my Uncle Jimmy (born 1909) and I believe his children were Ann, James, Elizabeth, Gerald and William. William was a bit younger than me and Gerald lived in the US. Does this help?

PS

James Alexander Hamilton (b 1909) eventually lived across the street from James and Mary Ann at 18 Perry Street.

Hello Warren

Well, well - what a surprise! Surprised

My mother was Margaret Hamilton (Uncle Jimmy's sister). I've had a PM from your Uncle Wesley and am thrilled as my sister and I had long wondered what had happened to that side of the family.

Martha (Uncle Jimmy's and my mum's sister) lived next door to Granny at 33 Perry Street and, as I said, Uncle Jimmy lived at 18. Martha's daughter, Stella, and I used to play with William up and down Perry Street and I knew Aunt Minnie too. (The last I heard she was still alive and living at the top of the Cregagh Road somewhere.)

Would you like to send me a PM with your email address and perhaps we could swap information? (Don't post it on the forum.)
