I am looking for information John Beaty, born in Down, Ulster, Ireland. Forgive me if I did not type the names of the township/county in the right order. All I know is that he was born in 1730 in Ireland, and came to Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, USA. He married a lady named Catherine in 1752 in Pennsylvania. I have the names of his children, but I am seeking information on his family from Ireland. Thank you for any information! I know there are quite a few people with this name from Ireland, so I also know that I am looking for a "needle in a haystack." Thanks Again!

The name Beatty or Beattie was most common in County Fermanagh. It would have been rare in Down which will help you.
There was a wave of emigration from Ulster by Presbyterians in the 1718-1730 time period. There is a web site devoted to this. I dont have the full title to hand but google "1718 Emigration Ulster" and it should pop up.

best of luck
Robert
