Transcript of inscriptions on tombstones in the graveyard of Creggan Presbyterian Meeting House in Freeduff townland in Creggan Parish and Fews Barony Co. Armagh copied by George Patterson 1926.

In memory of Samuel Armstrong of Dorsey who died 21 October 1892 aged 82 years. Also his beloved wife Hannah Armstrong who died 21 May 1894 aged 80 years.

In memory of John Anderson Senior late of Altnamaghan who departed this life the 18th day of February 1834 aged 72 years.

Erected by George A Adair in remembrance of his dearly beloved wife Jane who departed this life July 1891 aged 24 years. Here lyeth the body of John Ard who departed this life October 12th 1770 aged 34 years. Also [rest of the inscription is buried].

Here lyeth the body of John Bohannen of Cloughog who departed this life June 8th 1813 aged 74 years.

To the memory of John Bradley late of Freeduff who departed this life December 26th 1850 aged 80 years. Also of his son David Bradley who died August 31st 1839 aged 24 years. Also his son James Bradley who died 23 July 1875 aged 79 years. Here lyeth the body of William Bell of [ ] who departed this life December [ ] 1794 aged 67 years.

Here lyeth the body of Robert Belia who departed this life December 22nd 1788 aged 48 years. Here lyeth the body of Andrew Clarke late of Cortamilet[?] who departed this life November 2nd 1791 aged 75 years.

This stone is placed to the lifeless body of James Clarke Senior of Cortalylet born May 3rd 1745 died August 17th 1828.

Erected by James Crozier of Tullyvallen in the memory of his beloved father James Crozier who departed this life July 18th 1851 aged 69. Also his beloved mother Jane Crozier who departed this life January 15th 1864 aged 81. Rev Robert Ringland Drysdale MA Minister of Creggan Presbyterian Church who fell asleep on the 28th day of November 1810 aged 66 years.

Underneath this stone lyeth the remains of William Donaldson of Freeduff who departed this life on the 30th day of November 1815 aged 47 years. Also the body of Barbara his affectionate wife and faithful widow who departed March 31 1865 aged 82 years [flat stone].

Underneath are deposited the remains of Joseph Donaldson the infant son of Alexander Donaldson of Tullyvallen 12th July 1813. Also the remains of James Donaldson son of Alexander Donaldson who departed the 21st November 1833, and also the remains of the late Alexander Donaldson of Tullyvallen who died on the 25th day of June in the year of Our Lord 1834 and in the 70th year of his age and of Elizabeth Donaldson his wife who died on the 11th day of May 18[ ] age [ ] years also John Donaldson of Tullyvallen who died 31 October 1854 aged 36 years and Elizabeth beloved wife of Alexander Donaldson of Altnamaghan who died 8th June 1886 aged 51 years [flat stone]

Here lies the body of Robert Feely late of Cloghog who departed this life October 16th 1833 aged 80 years. Here also lies the body of his daughter Martha who died in July 1801 aged 19 years. Erected by Robert Gordon of New York in memory of his father William Gordon who died 25th May 1869 aged 58 years. His mother Ann Gordon who died 18 June 1889 aged 76 years. His brother John Gordon who died 17 July 1892 aged 52 years.

Here lyeth the remains of Thomas Hadden late of Tullinavall who departed this life the 10th of July 1820.

Here lyeth the body of Hugh Hanna who departed this life September 10th 1810 aged 13 years. Erected by David Hanna of Knocknanin in memory of his beloved wife Agnes Hanna who died 28 January 1876 aged 60 years. Also their son John Hanna who died 14 April 1862 aged 21 years. Also their daughter Isobel Hanna who died 4 December 1874 aged 14 years.

Sacred to the memory of Alice Houston of Cullehanna who departed this life March 18 [ ] aged 72 years and of her husband Robert Houston who died April 21st 1818 aged 71 years. Also to the memory of their daughter Margaret who died September 6th 1838 [ ] years and of their son William Houston who expired April 14th 1846 aged 50 years.

Erected by James Innis of Newry in memory of his beloved wife Margaret who departed this life 12th June 1866 aged 56 years. Sacred to the memory of Mary Jenkins only daughter of John Jenkins of [ ] who died June 18th 1816 in the 13th year of his age. Also of John Jenkins eldest son of John Jenkins who died the 18th January 1846 in the 21st year of his age.

Sacred to the memory of James Jenkins of Altnamaghan who died on the 5th April 1852 aged 22 years.

Erected by John Johnston of Cloghog in memory of his beloved wife Jane Johnston who died on the 15th December 1875 aged 55 years. To the memory of Alexander Lockhart of Muladuff died June 28th 1877 aged 71 years. Also his beloved wife Ann Jane Lockhart died May 7th 1889 aged 70 years.

Erected by Samuel Lockhart of Muladuff in memory of his beloved son James Eastwood Lockhart who died 22 September 1885 aged 19 yrs and 7 months. William A Lockhart born December 27th 1869 died August 21st 1890.

In memorium Samuel Lockhart of Muladuff born June 10th 1822 died July 19th 1900. His wife Sarah Jean Lockhart born August 13th 1827 died April 20th 1915.

In memorium John Lockhart BA QCC born April 7th 1862 died February 5th 1890. Albert T Lockhart born June 8th 1868 died November 17th 1890. Sarah J Lockhart born January 22nd 1871 died February 20th 1880. Sacred to the memory of the Rev Alexander McComb who died on the 9th day of June 1797 in the 92nd year of his age. He was for upwards of 60 years the Presbyterian Minister of the Parish in which he now rests and is human misery by a studious attention to the spiritual wants of all and to the temple wants of the poor and unfortunate. In him faith and good works were eminently[?] united. Also sacred to the memory of Mrs Ann McComb his wife who on the 10th day of February 1810 at the age of 74 departed this life having fulfilled the duties of wife and mother of [ ] fidelity, affection and sincerity ... in all her actions she was influenced by ... motive of the christian religion. Here too lie the remains of their infant daughter Ann McComb who died on 13th June 1785 and of their son and only other child Alexander McComb Esq who died on the 15th day of May 1860 aged 80 years. He was a member of the profession of Attorneys and Solicitors in Ireland from the year 1798 and died the father of a family of 9 children by his wife Esther McComb all surviving him [flat stone].

The scroll records the death of Alexander and William aged respectively 10 and 13 years, sons of Alexander McAnlis of Tullyvallen also Rm Thomas McAnlis BA son of above interred in India 16th September 1869 aged 26 years. Also Alexander father of above died 4th January 1897 aged 71 years.

Dedicated in loving memory of James McAnlis for 29 years the elder of Creggan Presbyterian Church who died 23 February 1894 aged 75 years. Alexander his son who died 22 March 1875 aged 13 years. Maria his daughter who died 8th May 1884 aged 20 years. Also his wife Jane who died 16th September 1905 aged 70 years.

Erected to the memory of John McWillie of Newtownhamilton who departed this life January 18th 1804 aged 88 years. Also James McWillie who departed this life December 30th 1808 aged 49 years. Also Mary McWillie who departed March 10th 1858 aged 81 years. Also Elenor McWillie who departed February 11th 1862 aged 55 years. Also William McWillie of Altnamaghan who departed this life June 14th 1863 aged 67 years [ flat stone ].

Here lyeth the body of John McConnell who departed this life May 17th 1782 aged 70 years.

Erected by John Malcolmson of Skeriff to the memory of his beloved wife Rose Ann Malcolmson who departed this life the 7th February 1825 aged 45 years. And Jane their daughter who died November 24th 1817 aged 7 years. Here also lies the remains of the aforesaid John Malcomson who died November 23rd 1847 aged 72 years. Erected by James Megaw of Skeriff to the memory of his beloved daughter Annie who died on 22 December 1876 aged 20 years.

Erected in loving memory of the Rev Thomas MacWilliams Minister of Creggan who died 15th June 1863 aged 59 years. Also of his children Elizabeth, Thomas, James, Oswald twins Helena, Charles, Primrose. Also rests the body of Anne Russell wife of the Rev Thomas MacWilliams who departed this life 22nd May 1905 in her 90th year. Here lieth the body of Samuel Mulligan who departed this life November 23rd 1798 aged 72 years.

Erected by Mary Milligan in loving memory of her husband Hugh Milligan of Altnamackin who died December 16th 1895. Also R[everend] Alexander Milligan of Corlea who died March 23rd 1893.

This stone marks the grave of William Melvin of Tullyvallen who died 6th October 1844 aged 62 years. Also the grave of his wife Susana Melvin who died on 22 January 1854 aged 65 years [flat stone]. Here lyeth the body of Annabell McNelly who departed this life November 15th 1780 aged 72.

Here lyeth the body of Joseph McIlveen late of Cloghog who departed this life June 7th 1832 aged 67 years. Here lyeth the body of David McIlveen late of Cloghog who departed this life September 6th 1863 aged 27 years. Erected by James Marks in memory of his beloved mother Alice Marks who departed this life on 23rd May 1858 aged 54 years.

Here lieth the body of James Nelso who departed this life April 7th 1823 aged 52 years.

In affectionate remembrance of Hugh Perry who died February 8th 1857 aged 48 years also his wife Margaret who died January 20 1868. Also their son Alick aged 5 years.

Erected by Jane Robinson of Skeriff in memory of her beloved brother Ray Robinson died 15 December 1832 aged 5 years. Also her father David died 23 December 1858 aged 82 years. Also her mother Catherine died 20 July 1878 aged 85 years. David her brother died 4 May 1882 aged 58 years. Margaret died 1 November 1882 aged 67 years. John Robinson died 1 January 1884 aged 45 years.

This slab is to mark the spot were rest the mortal remains of John Robinson late of Altnamackin who died January 2nd 1857 aged 56 years, also his wife Jane Robinson who died 11th April 1858 aged 74 years. Also their son William who died January 16th 1839 aged 12 years.

Erected by Joseph Robinson in memory of his beloved father Thomas Robinson who departed this life April 17th 1866 aged 65 years. Also his son Robert who died March 28th 1850 aged 2 years. Also his daughter Sarah who died November 16th 1861 aged 9 years. Also his daughter Margaret who died October 13th 1878 aged 22. His son William died October 13 13th 1885 aged 40. His wife Agnes died June 5th 1888 aged 70. His son Samuel died 8th May 1894 aged 53. His grandsons William J 1908 aged 12. Thomas died 11 November 1905 aged 17 years.

Erected by Thomas Thompson of Tullyvallen to the memory of his beloved daughter Mary Ann who departed this life the 22nd day of September in the year of Our Lord 1865 aged 30 years.

Erected by Robert Wylie in loving memory of his father George Wylie of Dorsey who died December 16th 1895 aged 71 years. Also his mother Mary Wylie who died March 20th 1919 aged 82 years.

Sacred to the memory of James West who departed this life on 9 August 1811 aged 59 years and of Ann West his wife who departed this life on the 18th March 1837 in the 75th year of her age [flat stone].
